ROLE PLAYED BY DEPARTMENT IN OVERALL CARE OF PATIENT:
Working closely with the emergency department, we have an extremely fast response time to emergency/critically injured patients with near immediate reports given in trauma situations to aid the attending physician(s).
PATIENT PROCESSING PROCEDURES:
All patients will register in the admissions department upon arrival. A photo-ID is required per HIPAA regulations when checking in for any outpatient exam. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment time to complete any necessary paperwork.
AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES/PHYSICIAN REFERRAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICES:
All routine imaging procedures are available on a scheduled basis Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm. All routine exams must be called-in and scheduled with the radiology department between the same hours of operation stated above. Physician referral forms must be sent via fax or email to admissions prior to the patient's arrival for exam. This must include three components: (1) exam(s) ordered; (2) proper diagnosis (medical necessity); and (3) ordering provider's signature.
PATIENT EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION:
Procedure preparation instructions should be given by the ordering provider's office at the time the exam is scheduled. If questions arise after leaving the physician office, you may call the imaging department for further instructions or clarification.
